Health Tip #1 for Living in the Light!

It’s a beautiful sunny morning in LA and I’m ready to enjoy some outdoor activity.  But suddenly I feel tired, a little drowsy.  Does this sound familiar to you?  Well, you might want to ask yourself if you’ve had enough to drink.  After all, a large part of staying awake and alert is proper hydration.  Sometimes coffee is not even required to achieve the lift you need.  My tip for today is about how to create a refreshing, healthy drink to refresh your body and brain.

First, take a bottle of your favorite sparkling mineral water.  I like the Trader Joe’s brand or sometimes Bubly brand.  Grab some Tazo Passion Tea, or Raspberry Hibiscus tea, or just plain Hibiscus tea.  Also enjoy an extra lift sometimes by adding a bag of Green Tea.  Then get a lemon.  Feel free to include a natural sweetener, such as evaporated cane juice sugar or Agave.  No GMO modified high fructose corn syrup of course!  The lemon, a great source of vitamin C, also offers extra mental invigoration and detoxes the body.

Put your tea bag(s) in a glass, and add maybe ¼ cup of purified lukewarm water (You will need hot water if you choose to add green tea with it.).  Let the drink sit for maybe 2 minutes. Then stir in your desired amount of sweetener and the juice from half of the lemon.  Remove the tea bag(s) if you like.  Now, fill up the rest of your glass with ice and sparkling water.  Stir and enjoy!
